RAW is going NATIONWIDE!

Greetings RAW family,

Heidi Luerra here- Founder and Executive Director of RAW:natural born artists.

I wanted to update you all and drop you a line about our annual RAWards Show for 2010.

For those of you who don’t know- At the end of every season (October) we allow the community, supporters and RAW family to vote for their favorite artists of the year.
If you participated in RAW (not as a donor) between February and October 2010 you are eligible for this years RAWards!

On October 15th (exactly a month away) the voting will begin online through the RAWartists.org website. Each of you profiles will have a VOTE button. Patrons that visit the site can vote 10 times a day, for 10 different artists (1 vote/per artist/per day). The community voting will span for two weeks and then the final votes will be tallied.November 1st the top 7 in each category will be announced as the RAWards nominees.

Why do we use popular vote? Because there are over a thousand artists showcased this year and we can’t narrow it down- or choose favorites ourselves. We love you guys all the same and this really is the only way.

Once the 7 are nominated they are reviewed by a panel of judges- these are all BIG TIME industry professionals/critics and power players (you want to be nominated, just so they look at your work). They will be reviewing your RAW artists profile online to make their decisions. The winners will be announced at the RAWards Show on December 17th 2010 @ the Music Box in Hollywood.

ALSO: There is one GRAND PRIZE WINNER! This person wins $1,000 grant from RAW:artists and is awarded the title of RAW:natural born artist of the year among other things. ALL nominees are eligible for this grand prize. They will be nominated by the panel of judges and voted by guests at the RAWards Show. This winner will also be announced at the annual RAWards Show (Dec. 17th).

The Categories are as follows;

* RAW:Filmmaker of the Year
* RAW:Fashion Designer of the Year
* RAW:Visual Artist of the Year
* RAW:Musician(s) of the Year
* RAW:Performing Artist of the year
* RAW:Hairstylist of the Year
* RAW:Makeup Artist of the Year
* RAW:Accessories Designer of the Year
* RAW:Photographer of the Year

I have spent the last two months gathering the BEST prizes, people and career changing opportunities possible.

Designers in Fred Segal, Muiscians consult with one of the biggest producers in Los Angeles, gallery placement for the visual artists on Robertson!- there is too much to name so check it out on the link. I have also attached an artist info packet that has further info.

We’re extremely excited to have such talented people in the running this season.

If you’ve never been to RAWards before you should note that its the most energetic, fun and fantastic awards show you’ll ever go to! I’m not being bias, there is so much creativity in the room you could spontaneously combust! I spend all year serving artists and RAWards is my playground for creative expression…so great ready!

All RAW artists alum get free admission so I hope you’ll join us whether you’re nominated or not. There will be highlights from RAW artists through out the season, Boys and Girls club performances, surprise presenters and lots of laughs.

In the meantime you should all spruce up your profiles and get prepared for voting season- Remember we start voting October 15th!

IF YOU NEED TO EDIT YOUR PROFILE

1. Go to the top of www.RAWartists.org home page
2. Input your Username or Email and Password to Log In
3. Scroll to the bottom of the homepage click ‘EDIT PROFILE’ (left hand corner)
4. Click the green tabs to edit/input information,pics,MP3s etc and click ‘UPDATE’ when you finish
5. All will be updated and you’re set to go!

IF YOU NEED TO CREATE YOUR PROFILE

1. Go to the top of www.RAWartists.org home page
2. Click the “REGISTER” text button
3. You’ll be asked to put in a username and password as well as your email. (Your Username will be visible to the judges FYI)
4. You’ll be taken to the ‘Edit Your Details Page’
5. Click the tabs to input pictures, MP3s, and bio info. (Keep in mind this is how you will be viewed, so fill it up!)
6. Once you click ‘UPDATE’ it will NOT be visible on the site right away. I review all profiles personally- I check them daily and make them live on the site.

***Please Note: You will not be able to click your category ie fashion/art/hair&makeup that is MY job- I will review it and make sure that is done for you during my daily routine!***
